This is my Story

I was suddenly struck with the urge, after my long long long absence from LJ, to read mcshep. So I, of course, turned to Sheafrotherdon. I eventually got to "The Half-Life of Carbon", which was just so lovely that I picked up an erasable pen and scetched out my favorite scene.

Happy mother's Day to my mommy and sister and to all you other mothers out there. I'm humbled by you.
I went to see Ironman and Speed Racer yesterday and I have to say that both movies were made of Awesome. Ironman was just everything I hoped it would be and Tony Stark is such a freaking Rock Star. Robert Downey Jr. did a fantastic job and Gwenth Paltrow was brilliant as Pepper. Love love love. Speed Racer was a great family film and it was a real blast to watch. Matthew Fox has never been hotter than he is in Racer X's black leather pants and Emile Hirsch and Chiristina Ricci... don't even get me started. Also Rain as Taejo was almost too hot to handle with his red streaked hair*fans self*. The casting was just perfect in both films... even sticking around after the credits(always always do this for a Marvel film) of Ironman I was pleasantly surprised to see Sam L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Anyway yesterday was my complete Geekgasm day and I highly recommend both films... though I was a fan of the original Speed Racer so that might have helped with my enjoyment.
This year has been now nick-named the year of the geek in my book due to the sheer amount of comic book and cult movies coming out. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE DARK KNIGHT!!!! After seeing the preview for it and *hearing* Heath Ledger(oh god why's he gone *sobs*)'s Joker voice had my inner Harley Quinn panting.
Okay... I'm done geeking... I could really use a geek icon *contemplates*. On Another note my DC:SGA fic with John as Supes and Rodney as Bats is coming along. It's working title is 'World's Finest' because it's goign to be based on the story arc of the Superman TAS series of the same name(better known as The Batman/Superman Movie). So if anyone sees _kiden , I'm working on it, I promise.

It's Jeanie in John's 'event horizon' dress. I'm not sure that I really captured the lovely description, but I made a valiant effort. It was a lot of fun to do though and I hope Cate likes it.

I drew something! I'm really proud of this one, despite it's craptastic background.

My mom and I totally geeked out watching the Mythbusters 100th episode because the theme was MacGyver! It was so awesome.
On another note I keep having this SGA dream. I don't know how or why but somehow Rodney gets separated from the Team and he ends up on some planet with a bunch a space-fairing natives (but not the Travelers). In the meantime John is injured/poisoned/drugged in a crashed 'jumper, alone. Rodney ends up commandeering a ship after  he tricks someone cleverly during a banquet and he tries to find John, then I get a flash of john lying on the jumper ramp hurt somehow... and then... I wake up... I had this dream (it varies a little) about three times now... is my subconscious telling me to commit fic? Also... where the heck are Teyla and Ronon?

Edit- Also I finally have the ring of my dreams. I've litlerally been looking for a ring like this for years. Then I found it on etsy.com by the very, very talented CrazyDaisyDeisgns.

Random little thing here. Watching Quarantine, while I am so so glad that my(john's!) lovely Rodney didn't get engaged, I freaking loved the ring he chose. Totally would have won *me* over with that pick. I was just gorgeous... now if only I had a screen cap of it...
Also, yay I made a Carson icon from a kindred promo pic. I miss him so so much. He was always my favorite despite my major mcshep love.

eta: I almost forgot. Happy Birthday RDA, you're looking mighty fine for fifty-eight.

I've finally caught my first glimpse of Traders and fell absolutely head over heels for Grant Jansky. I cannot believe how adorable he is... oh but alas I have no means to watch the Traders show. *cries* oh well. *cuddles imaginary Grant plushie* Oh David Hewlett, why must you be so awesome?

SHOW! I love stargate sooooo much. Atlantis! And Joe was on Women's Murder Club. and it's his birthday today... happy birthday Joe. long live you and your incredible hotness.

Yay I now own A Dog's Breakfast and SGA S3! I'm so happy... now I have to sleep so that I can watch them!

I'm just trying to make sure I'm doing this right

I don't think that anyone's actually reading this but I just feel like sharing.
If any of you have been to Vegas then you've probably seen the Excalibur. Some friends came down for a visit last week and pointed out something I'd never thought about before. King Arthur's castle on the Excalibur if built in a French arcitecheral style. The Greatest King of Britain lives in a French Castle?! How ridiculous is that. Therefore we got into this whole conversation, that Arthur thought it was cool... of maybe he let Lancelot design it... but eventually the people of Camelot got pissed off that their king thought he was too good for a British castle and they over threw him... there you go, mystery solved. Camelot was destroy and Arthur became myth because he built a freaking French Castle... thank you so much  Las Vegas Blvd. for destroying the image of one of my favorite Historical characters. /hides face in shame/
